Caning
When these oak chairs were brought to our shop the question was can they be caned? The customer had already removed the vinyl covered plywood seat. The answer was Yes!

The chairs were stripped and necessary repairs were made. A template was created to use as a guide to router the spline groove necessary to accept cane.

The chairs were stained Cherry and finished with clear laquer and caned.

Caning
We can repair a machine caned or retie a hand tied chair. First, all the old broken and sagging cane is carefully cleaned out and discarded.

A new piece of cane is measured and cut to size and then pushed into the spline groove.

The spline is measured, glued and also pushed into place.
